According to a new survey by the Pew Research Center’s Internet & American Life Project, most parents of teenagers are concerned about the online habits and activites of their teenage children, including how that activity may be monitored by others.

  • 81% of parents of digitally connected teens are concerned about advertisers capturing online activity
  • 72% of parents are concerned about how their teen interacts online with people they do not know personally
  • 69% of parents are concerned that their teen’s online activity may be made available to potential employers or schools and could impede opportunities otherwise made avalable to them
  • 69% of parents are concerned about how their teens represent themselves online and how it may affect their reputation.
